Bronx man fatally stabbed on Christmas Eve after laundromat confrontation

A 36-year-old Bronx man was fatally stabbed on Christmas Eve after a confrontation escalated into violence outside a laundromat in Mount Hope, police said.

Officers from the 46th Precinct responded to a 911 call at around 11:43 a.m. Tuesday about a stabbing near East Tremont Avenue and Morris Avenue. They found the victim, identified as Arkmayer Davis, on the sidewalk outside Kleen Panda Laundromat with multiple stab wounds to his torso, leg and arm. Emergency medical personnel rushed Davis to Saint Barnabas Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Surveillance footage from inside the laundromat captured the moments leading up to the fatal attack. According to reports, the footage shows Davis in a heated argument with the suspect, who demanded the return of his cellphone.

Shortly after, Davis was found covered in blood outside. The suspect fled the scene, and no arrests have been made since Wednesday morning.

Davis, a neighborhood resident, lived near the laundromat where the altercation occurred.
