Birth Announcements
White Plains Hospital sent the following birth announcements to the Bronx Times Reporter:

• Chase Richard Vargas was born to parents Claudia and Richard Vargas of Pelham Parkway on Thursday, November 3. Baby weighed seven pounds and nine ounces.
Notable Passing
Seymour Goodman He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army from July 11, 1944, until June 21, 1946. He was a private first class.
Goodman was born on December 12, 1925, in Brooklyn, NY.
After serving in the U.S. Army, Goodman held various positions in the workforce.
Eventually he got a job with the NYS Department of Mental Health.
Goodman worked for the state until retiring in 1991 at the age of 65. He lived in the Pelham Parkway community for 46 years.
Goodman married Shirley Wasserman in April 2, 1954.
The couple had two daughters. Due to an illness that befell his wife he raised his daughters by himself.
He is survived by his daughters, Robin and Deborah Goodman; his five granddaughters Ava, Alexa, Alanna, Aria and Tara; sisters Sylvia and Shiela and brother Melvin.
He was buried at Montefiore Cemetery in Queens on Sunday, November 27 with an Army Honor Guard present.
