Senator Klein officially opens new district office

Bronx Times

A local elected official has opened his new office at the Hutchinson Metro Center.

For the last six years, Senator Jeff Klein has operated his offices along East Tremont Avenue in Throggs Neck. Now, Klein has officially moved his team into a brand new suite on the twelfth floor on 1250 Waters Place.

Earlier this year, Klein and all of the representatives of the state senate were asked to cut back on their expenses as a result of the difficult economy. This included seeking affordable office space and when Klein was notified, he felt the Hutchinson Metro Center would be an ideal location for all of his constituents to reach.

“After my colleagues and I were asked to locate more affordable office spaces, I immediately felt that this would be a prime location to operate my office,” Klein said. “I was always a big supporter of the Hutchinson Metro Center and by having my office here, I am able to join some of the finest institutions in the whole borough. It is certainly the nicest location at the most affordable price.”

Klein, whose prior office operated out of 3612 E. Tremont Avenue since 2009, believes the new location is a major benefit for his constituents in the Bronx and Westchester. The Hutchinson Metro Center, which is close to the Hutchinson River Parkway, is easier to access for residents of his district that live beyond the borough.

One thing Klein is very happy about is the large amount of parking available throughout the Hutchinson Metro Center, a problem that he, his staff, and constituents endured while he operated his offices on East Tremont Avenue.

“It is great to be centrally located to my constituents. Parking is never an issue here and there are outlets to many forms of public transportation,” Klein said. “The MTA buses drop off right outside of the center, and the Hutchinson Metro Center also has their shuttle service which picks-up residents in Westchester Square.”

To accommodate constituents who may not be able to reach the Hutchinson Metro Center, Klein will continue to run operations from his campaign office every Friday between 1 and 4 p.m. at 3602 E. Tremont Avenue.

Klein will also be able to meet constituents at the Throggs Neck location by scheduling an appointment. Sen. Klein can be reached at (718) 822-2049.
