The Bronx Women’s Bar Association hosted a Holocaust Remembrance ceremony on Monday, April 29 at Bronx Hall of Justice – Room 691. Holocaust survivor Helena Anna Polack shared hers and her family’s story of hiding from the Nazis in barns, fields and forests when she was 14-years-old, surrendering to Nazi forces at age 16 and worked in a Nazi Labor Camp before her liberation. The event also featured live music by Bglig String Orchestra : The Bronx Global Learning Institute for Girls String Orchestra, Amanda Moreno playing Joe Feingold’s violin featured in the documentary ‘Joe’s Violin’ and a question and answer session following the presentation.

Lisa Waller outlined a brief history of the holocaust and Ms. Polack’s ordeal. The photo depicts Helena Polack’s family before WWII.
