Over 40 dogs, cats, and fish were given a special blessing by Father David Powers on Sunday, October 4 at St. Helena Parish. The Blessing of Live Animals is a traditional devotion celebrated each year on October 4, which is the feast day of Saint Francis of Assisi, who loved animals and wrote an ode to all God’s living things.
