Suspect Wanted In Bodega Murder

Police are on the hunt for a man wanted for allegedly shooting a woman to death in front of a Mott Haven bodega.

According to police, Amere Bryant, 24, shot Shaquana Button, 36, in the face on Monday, January 12 at 11:29 p.m. in front of E. Food Corp. Candy and Grocery at 728 E. 149th Street following a dispute.

Upon arrival, 40th Precinct police discovered Button unconscious and unresponsive with a gunshot wound to her face.

EMS responded to the scene and pronounced Button dead on arrival.

No arrests have been made in this outgoing investigation.

Police confirmed that Bryant has priors for criminal possession of a weapon and criminal sale of marijuana.
