Notable Passing
Robert Michael Peter Timmoney, who was born and raised in Throggs Neck, passed away at the age of 88-years-old after a battle with dementia. He was proud to be a practicing Catholic, and of Irish and Italian heritage. He served his country in the U.S. Coast Guard.
Robert was one of seven children born to Madeline and Jospeh Timmoney. Robert is survived by his daughter Arlene and husband Mark Perricone, a son Kenneth and wife Diane Timmoney, brother Donald and wife Diane Timmoney, sister Joyce and husband Edward Stein.
His grandchildren are Melanie Anaya, Danielle Santiago, Amanda Santiago, Nicholas Fox, Brianna Perricone, Robert Santiago, Kyle Perricone, Jonathan Santiago and Travis Perricone.
He will be missed by their spouses and partners Giovanna Perricone, Enysia Perricone, Matthew Kolakowski, Ashley Sladeke and Raina Morrero.

Robert was blessed with three great grandchildren: Bentley, Kinglsey and Savannah.
May he rest in eternal peace with God and all his loved ones who entered heaven before him, especially his two daughters Suzanne and Robyn, and brother and sisters Doris, Jack, Patricia and Jane.
Serving America
Schafieq Nanton, a 2012 graduate of Frederick Douglas Academy 3, is serving in the U.S. Navy as a Petty Officer 3rd Class.
Nanton serves in Guam, where he is providing important servicing to the U.S. Navy’s Pacific submarine fleet.
He is part of a hybrid crew of U.S. Navy personnel and civilian mariners working aboard the expeditionary submarine tender, USS Frank Cable.
I like machining and being able to make the parts, he said in a statement, adding that he credited a lot of his success in the U.S. Navy to lessons he learned in the borough from his father: My dad taught me to work hard and to take my job serious; the discipline was already instilled in me.
