The Police Athletic League’s Girl Talk program was launched last fall in seven of its after-school centers including M.S. 118 with the aim of giving middle school girls a safe space to share and learn together.
The young women participated in career readiness activities, leadership skills and civic engagement opportunities.
Presently supported by its founding corporate partner, American International Group, PAL Girl Talk’s success is enhanced by the involvement of female professionals, ‘Women of Inspiration’, who serve as guest speakers, sharing their life experiences and engaging in community service with young women.
