Scanlan Grad Makes

Good In U.S. Navy

Daniel Rodriguez, a U.S. Navy petty officer and a 2010 graduate of Monsignor Scanlan High School, is serving aboard the USS Harry Truman aircraft carrier.

He was recognized as the ship’s Warrior of the Day on Thursday, March 3. Each Warrior of the Day is selected from more than 2,000 sailors assigned and is recognized by Truman’s commander.

Rodriguez is a borough native. His commendable hard work and dedication set the standard for his peers, earning him recognition as Warrior of the Day.

Young Lady Competes

For Teen Title

Angie Morocho of Fordham was recently selected to participate in the 2016 Miss Teen Pageant Competition that will take place on Sunday, April 3.

Angie learned of her acceptance into this year’s competition when the pageant announced their selections following interviewing in the local New York area.

Angie will be competing for her share of thousands of dollars in prizes and specialty gifts that will be distributed to contestants. Angie will be competing in the Miss Teen division, one of two divisions that will have young ladies ages of 13 through 19 competing in modeling routines, which include casual wear and formal wear.

Most importantly, Angie will display her personality and interviewing skills while interviewing with this year’s judging panel. Personality is the number one aspect that each contestant is judged on during all phases of competition.
