Rotary Club News

The Rotary Club of the Bronx reported information about their meetings in late July and August:

• The Tuesday, July 21 meeting of the Rotary Club of the Bronx featured Amanda Compton and Angela Torres as guest speakers. Compton spoke about Easter Seals, an organization whose mission is to provide services to children and adults with special needs

• At the Tuesday, July 28 gathering, there was a visit from Marilyn Massaro, Rotary International’s district governor for the region including the Bronx.

She spoke about the need to maintain transparent leadership, and gave a talk about how she got involved in the organization and where it is today.

• Guest Speaker Imran Kazmi, a self described peace activist and ‘a consultant by day and philosopher by night’ spoke to the group about peace and prosperity and his unique way of achieving it on Tuesday, August 4.

Paula Miritello, of My Cousin Vinny, an organization that does outreach to veterans, spoke on Tuesday, August 11.

Also, fine artist and Rotarian Marguerite Chadwick-Juner is moving out of state with her husband, but will continue to create newsletters and graphics for the club materials.

Masiero presented Toba LaCrown, Bronx Rotary president, with a banner at the Tuesday, July 28 meeting.
