100th Birthday

Columba Curcio, known to many as Curio, will celebrate her 100th birthday on Friday, April 10. A niece of Columba reports that she reads the Bronx Times Reporter. Her niece, Margaret Sicari, writes:

Columba moved to the Bronx from Harlem with her family as a young woman. She still lives in her home in the Soundview area, where she spent the greater part of her teaching career at P.S. 107 on Seward Avenue.

Reading books, newspapers and magazines are her pleasures. So is socializing daily with family and friends via written, phone and e-mail communication. In addition, she goes to her computer twice daily for news, mail and to visit her Italian website for recipes and articles of topical interest.

Until last spring, she attended classes and activities at her professional retiree center. She looks forward to a big celebration of her longevity and vitality on April 12 with her family and circle of friends.
