-The following are crime reports and arrests filed by the NYPD’s police precincts in the Bronx.
40th Precinct
— On Sunday, March 12, at approximately 11:40 p.m., inside of a bodega, Empire Grocery and Deli, located at 511 E. 138 St., a male individual approached the counter asking for NyQuil and tobacco. He then reached over the counter and took $200 in cash. The male suspect then also took the merchandise without paying before attempting to leave the bodega. An 18-year-old male employee locked the front door and confronted the suspect, who pulled out a firearm from his waistband and told the employee to open the door. The employee complied and unlocked the door, and the suspect fled with the stolen cash and merchandise valued at $36.
The individual being sought is described as approximately 5’3″ tall, with a light complexion, medium build, black hair, last seen wearing a black baseball hat, a blue bubble jacket, gray pants and black sneakers.
41st Precinct
— The New York City Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance regarding an assault that occurred within the confines of the 41st Precinct.
On Thursday, March 9, at approximately 6:15 p.m., an 82-year-old male taxicab driver was engaged in a verbal dispute with a driver at the intersection of Lowell Street and Longfellow Avenue when the unidentified individual pepper sprayed the taxicab driver in the face. The individual then fled in a gray sedan in an unknown direction. The victim was treated by EMS at the scene.
42nd Precinct
— The New York City Police Department is asking the public’s assistance in identifying the individuals depicted in the attached media in connection with a robbery that occurred on Friday, March 10.
At approximately 3:34 p.m.,three unknown individuals approached and engaged in conversation with a 35-year-old male victim, in front of 830 E. 163 St. The individuals proceeded to punch, kick and throw the victim into a fence before removing his phone from his jacket. The three suspects fled eastbound on 163 Street. The victim sustained bruising and swelling from the incident but did not require hospitalization.
— On Thursday, March 23, at roughly 10 p.m., inside of a residential building located at 547 E. 168 St., two unidentified individuals forcibly entered an apartment. One displayed a firearm, while the other individual displayed a “cutting instrument” and stabbed the 30-year-old female victim in the left arm causing a laceration.
The two assailants then removed a cellphone and a safe containing approximately $160,000 from the premises before fleeing in an unknown direction. The victim was removed by EMS to St. Barnabas Hospital in stable condition.
43rd Precinct
— On April 3, Christian Peralta, 31, was arrested and charged in connection with a March 26 robbery.
On that date, at 6:55 p.m., a 32-year-old male was operating a tow truck with a flatbed on the Bruckner Expressway Service Road at Bruckner Boulevard in the vicinity of Ward and Boynton avenues. While his vehicle was in motion, a large group of individuals approached on dirt bikes and ATVs.
Some of the individuals in the group jumped onto the flat bed and successfully removed a a four-wheeler that was being towed on the flatbed. The group fled the location on the eastbound Bruckner Expressway Service Road.
The tow truck operator was not injured as a result of this incident. The ATV that was removed from the flatbed was abandoned by the group and recovered a short distance away by responding officers.
Peralta has been charged with robbery, grand larceny and reckless endangerment.
— On Tuesday, March 28, at approximately 10:05 a.m., an unknown male approached a 28-year-old victim, while traveling on an MTA southbound 6 train, in the vicinity of the Saint Lawrence train station. The individual pulled out a gun, struck the male victim in the head with it, and then fled the scene. The victim received medical treatment at an area hospital for the injury to his head.
The sought individual is described as having a dark complexion, glasses, last seen wearing a gray knit hat and a yellow coat.
46th Precinct
— It was reported to police that on Monday, March 13, at approximately 5:55 p.m., a 39-year-old female was entering her residence near the vicinity of East 177 Street and Jerome Avenue when an unknown male followed her into the building. The unidentified individual then approached her from behind and reached into her pocket. A physical altercation ensued and the unknown male forcibly removed approximately $700 from the victim’s pocket and shoved her. The individual then fled the location on foot, heading eastbound toward Walton Avenue. There were no reported injuries as a result of this incident.
The individual is described as a male, approximately 5’9″ tall and 200 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black jacket, blue jeans, blue hooded sweatshirt, gray knit cap and light sneakers.
— On Monday, March 13 at approximately 6:48 a.m., a 32-year-old female was at home when two individuals entered her residence near the vicinity of East 182 Street and Grand Concourse. The male suspect wielded a knife and demanded money from the victim. The female suspect then removed approximately $300, a debit card and other ID documents from the victim’s purse. They then fled the location. The victim did not sustain any injuries from this incident.
47th Precinct
— On Sunday, March 26, at approximately 11:39 a.m., a 38-year-old male was on a moving southbound 2 train when a male individual approached and engaged him in a verbal dispute. As the dispute escalated, both the victim and suspect exited the train at the East Gun Hill Road and White Plains Road train station. While on the southbound platform, the suspect pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim in the lower back. The individual fled from the station. EMS responded and transported the victim to NYC Health and Hospitals/Jacobi in stable condition.
48th Precinct
— On Saturday, April 1, at approximately 3:24 p.m., police responded to a 911 call of an unresponsive male at 765 E. 175 St. Upon arrival, an investigation revealed that 52-year-old Andre Harry was unconscious in the elevator room of the location with a stab wound to the neck. EMS responded to the location and pronounced Harry dead at the scene.
On April 2, Ricardo Nieves, 34, was arrested in connection with the death and charged with murder.
