The National Council of Negro Women (NCNW), Inc. held its monthly meeting for the North Bronx section on Monday, Jan. 6, at the Community Board 12 office located at 4101 White Plains Rd.

The organization’s mission is to lead, empower, and advocate for African American women, their families, and their communities. NCNW focuses on promoting education, improving women’s health and access to healthcare, fostering civic engagement, advocating for social justice and sound public policy, and supporting entrepreneurship, financial literacy, and economic stability.
Community members attended the meeting both in person and virtually. The meeting covered topics such as upcoming events, member orientation, newly appointed Executive Board members, and more. Attendees also had the opportunity to ask questions, share input, and voice their concerns.

In recognition of Human Trafficking Awareness Month in January, community members were invited to participate in upcoming events addressing the issue.
