Montefiore Einstein receives $1.4 million in city grants for new mammogram machines and mammography van

Bronx Borough President Vanessa L. Gibson and New York City Council Member Eric Dinowitz presented Montefiore Einstein with two grants meant to help provide breast cancer screenings to more Bronx residents on Monday, Oct. 28.

The first grant was $800,000 for two new 3D mammogram machines at the hospital, located at 1825 Eastchester Rd. The other grant was for $600,000 to help fund a new Mammography Van that will travel around the Bronx and offer its services in 2025.

The $1.4 million in total funding builds upon efforts from Montefiore Einstein Comprehensive Cancer Center to meet Bronx residents where they are by increasing access to screenings for breast cancer and bringing clinical care to more community settings.
