Hunts Point Produce Market to host 4th Annual ‘Hunts Point Gives Back’ Community Event

The merchants at the Hunts Point Produce Market will once again come together to host the Annual ‘Hunts Point Gives Back’ to Hunts Point, a community event.

The event will take place Saturday, November 17 at 1230 Lafayette Avenue, Bronx, NY 10474 and provide members of the Hunts Point community with fresh, healthy, seasonal produce in advance of Thanksgiving.

Working closely with the Community Affairs Unit at the NYPD’s 41st Precinct, area elected officials as well as the Hunts Point Produce Market’s ‘Next Generation Committee,’ 2,000 bags containing more than 25,000 pounds of fresh produce will be assembled and distributed to members of the surrounding community.

Individual bags will be filled with fresh produce including: baking potatoes, acorn squash, butternut squash, carrots, ginger, chayote squash, cranberries, garlic, yams, rutabagas, Macintosh apples and oranges.

In addition, each bag will contain helpful, easy recipes.
