High Speed Pursuit In Parkchester

A repeat offender led police on a dangerous high speed pursuit in Parkchester last week.

According to a NYPD spokesman, Anthony Reyes, 38, a 116-30 Sutphin Boulevard resident, alledgedly stole a woman’s pocket book in front of 2561 Frisby Avenue before fleeing the scene in a rental Penske truck. Officers from the 43rd Precinct spotted Reyes and gave pursuit on Friday, March 24 at 9:15 a.m. on Westchester and Glover avenues going down a one-way street in the wrong direction. The pursuit ended when Reyes’ rental truck, driving against traffic, plowed into a bus stop and then the front of Williams Hardware at 1581 Unionport Road. The Queens native with 15 prior arrests was charged with robbery, reckless endangerment, assault and reckless driving. Photo by Edwin Soto
