High Speed Pursuit In Parkchester

Police secured the area where Reyes’ rental truck slammed into Williams Hardware’s storefront following a nerve-racking high speed police pursuit.

A repeat offender led police on a dangerous high speed pursuit in Parkchester last week.

According to a NYPD spokesman, Anthony Reyes, 38, a 116-30 Sutphin Boulevard resident, alledgedly stole a woman’s pocket book in front of 2561 Frisby Avenue before fleeing the scene in a rental Penske truck. Officers from the 43rd Precinct spotted Reyes and gave pursuit on Friday, March 24 at 9:15 a.m. on Westchester and Glover avenues going down a one-way street in the wrong direction. The pursuit ended when Reyes’ rental truck, driving against traffic, plowed into a bus stop and then the front of Williams Hardware at 1581 Unionport Road.
