Healthfirst hosted their first annual Women’s History Month Community Awards Celebration last Thursday, March 31 at Maestro’s Caterers to recognize the ground breakers and ‘herstory makers’ of our time. This year’s distinguished honorees included Deputy Borough President Aurelia Greene; District Attorney Darcel Clark; Councilwoman Julissa Ferreras; Councilwoman Annabel Palma; Councilwoman Vanessa Gibson; Dr. Rosie Mills, William Hodson Senior Center executive director; Lisa Kenner, Van Dyke I Houses Resident Association president; C. Virginia Fields, National Black Leadership Commission on AIDS, Inc. president; Elba Cornielle, Boston Road Pediatrics administrator; Bronx Parks Commissioner Iris Rodriguez-Rosa, Paloma Izquierdo-Hernandez, Urban Health Plan president and Senator Ruth Hassell-Thompson.
