Firefighters made quick work extinguishing a Parkchester home’s basement fire last Friday. According to a FDNY spokesman, 12 units and 60 firefighters were dispatched to combat a fire at 1968 Ellis Avenue on Friday, December 9 at 3:22 p.m. The fire began in the two family house’s boiler room located in the basement apartment before spreading to the first floor. The FDNY gained control over the blaze at 4:29 p.m. There were no injuries or fatalities reported in the incident. Photo by Edwin Soto
