The East Bronx History Forum and Van Nest Neighborhood Alliance hosted a Veterans Day ceremony on Friday, November 11 at Van Nest Memorial Park. The event featured a wreath laying ceremony and special recognition for former commanding officer of the NYPD’s Transit District 12 and current 42nd Precinct commanding officer deputy inspector Ernest Morales who served as a lieutenant in the U.S. Navy Reserve.
