Last week, Bronxites did their part to keep Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s dream alive by commemorating the late civil rights leader in a special interfaith service.
On Monday, January 18, Borough President Ruben Diaz, Jr. and Senior Pastor Naomi Tyler-Lloyd hosted the annual event at Trinity Baptist Church which united local elected officials and residents in honoring Dr. King’s legacy and memory. Speeches delivered by elected officials and members of Trinity Baptist Church reminded the congregation of King’s message of equality and to accept disappointment while remaining optimistic of progress.
Sharon Miles (l) attended the event with her husband, Donald Miles, principal law clerk to Bronx Supreme Court justice Alison Tuitt and Johnnie Goff.
