SUNY Maritime College students and faculty were ‘over the moon’ when U.S. astronaut commander Scott Kelly visited his alma mater on Tuesday, May 3. The Class of 1987 alum spent a year in space aboard the International Space Station and participated in NASA’s historic Twins Study with Kelly’s identical twin brother, retired astronaut, engineer and U.S. Navy captain Mark Kelly, participating from Earth as the control model in an experiment about how space affects the human body.
