Community members gather to enjoy Co-op City Health Awareness event

Community members came together to participate in the Co-op City Health Awareness event on Friday, Aug. 16, at the Co-op City Greenway.

Those in attendance enjoyed free entry, food, beverages, live music, a water balloon fight, giveaways, and much more. The main purpose of the event was to honor holistic health, including mental, physical, and emotional health.

This event was hosted by Council Member Kevin C. Riley’s class of 2024 interns. Riley, Mosholu Montefiore Community Center, Riverbay Corporation, Being Egypt Cares, Heal4Real, Comprehensive Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention Program, Astor Services, The Door Bronx Youth Center, Green Earth Apothecary and Co-op City partnered together to hold this event.

Many of these partners made their presence known during the event. Astor Services gave out back-to-school items from their table. Being Egypt founder and bestselling author Egypt Bush, along with the Being Egypt mascot, was on hand for the event. Green Earth Apothecary owner Bridget Bonaparte gave out natural health and wellness products.
