Environmental advocates, Bronx residents, and tenants from the Bronx River Houses NYCHA development called on state officials to stop the Cross Bronx Expansion. The New York State Department of Transportation designed projects to repair five bridges along the expressway that involve constructing additional "traffic diversion structures," which Bronx residents oppose as a highway expansion.
