Holiday Lights: 3 p.m. – 8 p.m. at the Bronx Zoo
The Bronx Zoo is hosting nights of family-friendly holiday festivities beginning this weekend. From Nov. 18 to Jan. 8, enjoy an immersive light display with custom-designed animal lanterns and animated light shows across the zoo. The celebration includes festive entertainment, seasonal treats, classic holiday music and more. This event is open to the public, and interested participants can buy tickets here.
NYBG GLOW: 8 p.m. at the New York Botanical Garden
Enjoy an evening of holiday magic at New York City’s largest outdoor holiday light display. The third annual NYBG Glow evenings feature music, dance, food, and more — along with the dazzling light installations to reflect the surrounding gardens. Nocturnal Hike: 5 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. at Pelham Bay Park
Join the Urban Park Rangers in exploring Pelham Bay Park’s trails after dark. Attendees will have the opportunity to observe the abundance of nocturnal animals that call the park home. This event is free and open to the public. Interested participants can find more information here.
Seal Exploration: 2 p.m. – 3 p.m. at the Orchard Beach Nature Center in Pelham Bay Park
Join Urban Park Rangers in finding the best wildlife viewing spots in “the urban jungle.” New York City is home to an amazing abundance of wildlife, and this is a great time of year to spot seals in the Long Island Sound. Santa Paws: 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. at Crotona Park
This Sunday, Crotona Park Community Dog Run, in partnership with the ASPCA, is bringing a holiday event to Crotona Park. The ASPCA will provide free food and coats for dogs, until supplies run out. Attendees will have the opportunity to take free pet photos with “Santa Paws.” This event is free and will be held rain or shine. Interested participants can find more information here.
