Bronx native and Community-Police Relations Foundation Chairman/CEO Al Eskanazy helped organize and took part in a community block party in Mount Vernon on Saturday, Aug. 31.

Among the festivities on hand for community members to enjoy were a DJ, food, drinks, groceries, community resources, games and more. There was also a backpack giveaway.

In addition to Eskanazy, who was born and raised in the Bronx, other organizers of the block party included Mount Vernon Mayor Shawyn Patterson-Howard and Community-Police Relations Foundation New York City Chair Director Glenn Hechler.
