Several Bronx boys and young men from 7-20 years of age gathered for the fourth “Boys to Men Sit Down Conference” to learn about potential pathways to success on Saturday, Nov. 16, at the Evander Childs High School campus.
This conference was spearheaded by Bronx Youth Empowerment Program Director Andy King and his “King Talk Tuesdays” events. It also acted as a celebration of the Bronx Youth Empowerment Program serving the community for 20 years.
The Boys to Men Sit Down Conference brought together men from the professional, spiritual and athletic worlds to talk about their own journeys to manhood. These speakers, including New York Knicks legend Allan Houston and Hip-Hop artist Mysonne, also answered questions from the boys on hand.
The stories of each speaker, as well as the detailed answers they gave to the boys’ questions, helped to provide them with clear instructions on how to achieve success as a man, as well as how to ensure they can stay safe.
