Assemblyman Michael Blake held his ‘Celebrations of Legends: Past, Present and Future’ Black History Month Celebration on Saturday, February 27 at the Claremont Neighborhood Center to honor the contributions made by many local African American veterans. Joining the assemblyman in celebrating the service our nation’s heroes, Borough President Ruben Diaz, Jr.; Councilwoman Vanessa Gibson and Councilman Andy King were in attendance to meet with the veterans and present them citations recognizing their bravery. In addition, the ceremony included discussions for economic development, education and equality for all while celebrating the advances made in the African American community.
