Gulianna Maria Benevento received the Sacrament of Holy Baptism at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church on East 187th Street in Belmont on Sunday, October 18. Gulianna’s proud parents are Anthony Benevento and Maria Benevento and her Godparents are Gerardo Magnarelli and Phyllis Della Camera. Gulianna’s grandparents are Mr. & Mrs. Nazzareno Magnarelli wish Gulianna the greatest blessing that life can offer her.

The festivities of this happy occasion continued at Frankie & Johnnies Restaurant to gathering with family and friends to extend they wishes to Gulianna of blessing, love and happiness.

Happy Birthday in Heaven

Lisa Prorazzo wants to wish her husband, Ed Prorazzo, a happy fifth birthday in heaven. He passed away at the age of 38, and was the father of her three boys.

Veteran Honored

Longtime borough community member and World War II veteran Oscar Thornhill was honored with a patriotic celebration of his service in the U.S. Navy recently.

Family and Friends gathered for the celebration at MJHS Hospice and Palliative Care, which threw the party as part of its We Honor Our Veterans initiative.

Karaoke Contest Finalist

Michael Wilbekin of Throggs Neck, a karaoke champ in the community, has reached a final round in a Karaoke Contest at Coogan’s on Broadway in Washington Heights. He is working on arranging a cheering section for himself during the contest, Saturday, December 19. Congratulations!

Bronxite serves in US Navy

The U.S. Navy reports that Boatswain’s Mate Seaman Recruit Emily Gonzalez, who is from the borough, is serving aboard the U.S.S. Porter. The boat is a guided missile destroyer that is currently deployed to Spain.
