Mr. and Mrs. Wilfredo Velez and Mr. and Mrs. Silvestro Fiore (both of Throggs Neck) are proud to announce the marriage of their children, Will Velez and Jennifer Rivera on Saturday, November 21.
After serving for 14 years in the U.S. Army, Will now works in operations for Starwood Hotels.
Jennifer is Cardinal Spellman High School’s vice president of advancement. Their parents wish the couple a long and happy life together.
New Nursing Director
Providence Rest, a nursing home located in Country Club, is welcoming registered nurse Jean Bartley-Christie, who has been appointed to the position of director of Nursing.
Bartley-Christie comes to Providence Rest from the Schaffer Extended Care Center at Sound Shore Medical Center, now Montefiore New Rochelle, where she served ten years, most recently as the director of nursing. Prior to that she was the nurse educator and infection control nurse. In positions previous to her last one, Bartley-Christie was the clinical instructor and infection control nurse at Morningside House, the in-service coordinator at Kings Harbor Multicare Center, and the staff development/infection control coordinator at St. Cabrini Nursing Home. She attended New York Medical College, School of Public Health where she received a Masters of Science in Health Services Policy and Management; earned her Bachelors of Science in Nursing from Mercy College and received her RN Diploma from the Westchester School of Nursing in Valhalla.
