Diamond Anniversary

Congratulations to Rosina Russo and George Russo from their family as they celebrate their 75th wedding anniversary.

They set the record for the longest marriage at a special Valentines Day Mass for couples at St. Benedict Church, their family reports. We love you.

Beloved Husband

Rhoda Schloss says goodbye to her husband Milton Schloss who passed away on Sunday, February 14. He loved life and was a proud U.S. Marine. We were married 60 years. The family will miss him. He was the love of my life.

Martial Arts Leader Remember

Soshu Shigeru Oyama, a Bronxite for the past 15 years and the founder and director of the World Oyama Karate Organization, will be remembered in a memorial service for him at Giordiano Funeral Home at 1727 Crosby Avenue from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Friday, March 4.

As many as 2,000 people are expected to attend. Shihan Velez remembers that he was one of the few original martial arts masters in the world. He was loved and well respected. For more information, call Velez at (718) 710-8101.

Passing of a friend

Debbie Tucker regrets to inform the community of the passing of her dear friend Adele Martin on Wednesday, February 17, just a few days shy of her 90th birthday, which would have been on Sunday, February 21.

Martin was a fixture in the Pelham Parkway Jewish community. She was active in the National Council of Jewish Women and ORT America. She will also be missed at the Pelham Parkway Jewish Center’s senior program.
