100th Birthday

Lucille Farrington turned 100-years-old on Tuesday, June 27.

Farrington is the mother of Joseph Thompson, 49th Precinct Community Council president and Community Board 11.

Thompson said his mother was an inspiration for his joining the military.

Thompson said he has memories of his mother praying with her family during World War II, and that her admiration for service members protecting the country during the war inspired him to enlist in the U.S. Air Force.
