The Mass of the Four Chaplains was celebrated at St. Frances de Chantal Church on Sunday, February 1. At the celebration, four chaplains who gave up their life jackets when they were on a World War II ship transporting troops to Europe that was torpedoed and eventually sank, were honored. Although celebrated throughout New York state in the past, this event marked the first time it was celebrated in this part of the Bronx.
