If you haven’t seen THAT 2005 video of Assemblyman Jose Rivera playing Boyz in the Dominican ‘Hood with former Assemblyman Adam Clayton Powell IV, ogling young girls, discussing, um, anatomical firmness, “marihuana” and zooming in on some DR cutie’s culo, here it is: www.youtube.com/watch?v=GQE0kX3GZWA.
But the geriatric gigolo’s sexual joshing is tame compared to our discovery of more disgusting tapes by the video auteur.
While pretty shocking, we think voters deserve to know his involvement in a group where men, and yes, women, meet behind closed doors and practice bizarre, depraved and embarassing acts of degradation and self-abuse.
We’ll hopefully be shortly posting his R-rated tapes of those regular sessions in the state Assembly….
Kenny Agosto, founder of the Liberty Democratic Association and outgoing district leader in the 80th Assembly District, is miffed at Assemblyman Mark Gjonaj’s comments about “disenfranchised voters” in the district. Gjonaj made the comment in announcing he and Senator Jeff Klein are seeking members for their newly formed political club.
While Kenny was redistricted, and can’t run for reelection, he’s still a Liberty loyalist.
“I take exception with Mark saying the Liberty is not inclusive,” sayeth Kenny, citing a long list of club officers who are or have been Latino, Jewish, Irish and disabled.
And just to dig the knife in, Kenny called it “a fluke when Mark won because the people in the district didn’t like the predecessor (“Some girls just wanna have fun” Naomi (Snooki) Rivera).
As far as the club putting up a candidate for district leader, Kenny noted that he asked state committeeman Joe McManus if he’d be interested, but Joe declined.
So far, no word on any other interested parties, either out of Liberty or the newly forming Gjonaj/Klein club.
District leaders, by the way, carry a lot of clout both locally and within the county organization.
As Kenny sayeth, “Politics is who gets what. If you’re not at the table, you’re on the menu.”
With petitioning kicking off Monday, March 4, we’ll go out on a limb and predict Congressmen Eliot Engel, Joe Crowley and a suddenly out of hibernation Jose Serrano will be reelected, without oppostion.
The big question is will second time be a charm for northern Manhattan state Senator Adriano Espaillat taking on incumbent Charlie Rangel after almost beating him the last time.
Could the Bronx, which covers about 20% of the 13th district be a factor this time?
Senator Gustavo Rivera, who faces his own challenge from Councilman Fernando Cabrera, is backing Espaillat, and helped him kick off his campaign on Saturday, March 1 with a meet-and-greet walk along the Fordham Road shopping district.
Cabrera is still reported weighing his options on whom to back, since the eventual winner in the June Congressional primary can go a long way to helping or hurting him in his challenge against Rivera. Stay tuned on this one.
Former Attorney General and now ex-Riverdale City Councilman Oliver Koppell, sounding like Chairman Mao, calling Democratic Senator Jeff Klein “a lapdog for Senate Republicans.” Ollie’s been weighing a challenge against Jeff, whose five-member Independent Democratic Conference co-rules the Senate with Republicans. He cited Jeff for “openly endorsing challenges to sitting Democratic legislators,” including regular Democratic Conference head Andrea Stewart-Cousins of Yonkers.
Senate Dems would love to see a serious challenge against Jeff, but so far, have been hedging their bets with Ollie.
Former state Senator Pedro Espada’s son Pedro G. Espada, 40, released from Chez Fed on Feb. 28 after doing his one-year stretch for helping to loot Papi’s Soundview Healthcare Network. Papi Pedro, 60, is doing his five-year stretch at the Fort Dix Federeal Correctional Institution, due to be sprung 10/30/17.
One of our spies reports Assemblymen Mark Gjonaj and Jose Rivera recently spotted in rapt conversation over dinner at Jimmy Rodriquez’ new Don Coqui on City Island. Wonder if it has anything to do with new mega-political club Mark and Senator Jeff Klein are opening and some possible challenges Jose could be facing for his Fordham/Kingsbridge seat?
Congrats. To Sgt. Tawee “T” Theanthong at the 49 Precinct squad in Morris Park, upped to full detective squad commander; Detectives Michell Geist at the 42 Squad in Morrisania and Jose Rodriguez at Bronx Gang unit, both upped to prestigious first grade rank, and to Anthony Elio and Cristina Reyes at the 45 Squad in Throggs Neck, getting their prized gold detective shields.
Big time. Former Bronx Homicide and 40th Precinct First Grade Detective Robert Addoralato, named chief investigator for the Moreland Commission to Investigate Public Corruption in the state legislature. Wonder if Bobby is still asking his favorite question?
March 7 – Councilman Jimmy Vacca.
March 7 – Former 80th Assembly District state committeewoman Diane Cerino.
March 12 – Councilman Andy King.
March 13 – ex-Bronx Republican Party leader Jay Savino, whose sentencing on a bribe receiving plea has been moved to July 22, no doubt after he testifies against co-conspirators, including state Senator Malcolm Smith.
