The Young Kings and Queens Chess Club collaborated with Butler Memorial Methodist Church in co-hosting the Butler Memorial Educational Street Fair on Saturday, July 28 at 3920 Paulding Avenue. The summertime extravaganza featured a Young Kings and Queens Chess Club open tournament, a check presentation by NYS Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli and Senator Jamaal Bailey to Butler Memorial United Methodist Church, delicious food, vendors and face painting.
Derrano Dennis was one of many participants who enjoyed the Young Kings and Queens Chess Club’s open chess tournament.

Danielle Jones from DiNapoli’s office and Senator Bailey (c) used the occasion to encourage people to check the state’s unclaimed funds website. They presented Butler Memorial United Methodist Church pastor Rev. Dr. Allen N. Pinckney, Jr. with a check for $648.54 from that fund.
