Joe Torre, Hall of Fame Yankees manager and Fr. Jonathan Morris, Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church pastor, honored a few local legends at ‘A Night in the Bronx on Arthur Avenue’ on Wednesday, May 23 at Arthur Avenue Market Pasticceria. The Archdiocese of New York hosted event formally recognized David Greco, Mike’s Deli owner; Jerome Raguso, Gino’s Pastry Shop manager and Joe Torre’s sister Sr. Marguerite Torre, a member of the Ursuline Sisters of Tildonk for their dedicated service to the community and Bronx Catholic schools. Over 150 guests raised approximately $125,000 to benefit the 27 elementary schools within the Bronx Catholic Schools Region at the gala celebration.
