40 Precinct

Friday, April 27 at 7:06 p.m. – Police responded to a 911 call about a person stabbed inside the Adams Houses project at 720 Westchester Avenue. When they arrived on the scene, cops found a 37-year-old man with multiple stab wounds to his body inside a first floor stairwell. EMS took the man to Lincoln Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

47 Precinct

Thursday, April 27 at 11:37 p.m. — Cops responded to an emergency call at 3305 Lurting Avenue. When they arrived, they found a 31-year-old woman who was unconscious. She had trauma to her body and was lying face down in a bedroom. EMS, arriving on the scene, pronounced the woman dead. A person of interest was taken into custody at the location.

48 Precinct

Friday, April 27 at 6:39 a.m. — A prisoner escaped from police custody while he was being medically treated at St. Barnabas Hospital. He was able to flee the hospital with a single handcuff applied to his wrist. He was identified by police as a man who had been arrested in the 52nd Precinct for criminal possession of a weapon, resisting arrest, criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminal possession of marijuana. He was later re-arrested by cops.

49 Precinct

Wednesday, April 18 at 9:30 a.m. — Cops got a report of a robbery near Young Avenue and East Gun Hill Road. An individual approached a 58-year-old woman by coming up behind her and grabbing her purse on her left shoulder. The victim hung onto the purse but the individual managed to struggle with her and get it away from her. He then ran to a black four-door sedan and fled on Wilson Avenue. He is described as a black man, weighing 160 pounds, who was last seen wearing a black hooded sweater and gray jeans, along with white and black sneakers. He is described as being about five feet, six inches tall.
