King Honors Comedian Charlie Murphy

Councilman Andy King joined New Yorkers in honoring the memory of late comedian and actor Charlie Murphy on Friday, May 20 on the steps of City Hall.

Murphy, a brother of comic legend Eddie Murphy, passed away on Wednesday, April 12 after losing his battle with leukemia.

Councilman King and Robert Cornegy presented the Murphy family with a City Council Proclamation dedicated to Charlie Murphy.

Murphy’s son, Charlie, Jr., accepted the 12th Council District Charlie Murphy Strength and Courage Award.
