Assemblyman Jeffrey Dinowitz’s annual holiday food drive was a tremendous success this year thanks in part to local schools, community groups and businesses that contributed hundreds of pounds of food to families in need.

Collaborating with the Kingsbridge Heights Community Center and St. Frances of Rome Church in Wakefield, Dinowitz’s office was able to distribute food to families throughout the Bronx for Thanksgiving, Chanukah and Christmas.

Local schools including P.S. 7, P.S. 81, P.S. 24 and Riverdale Kingsbridge Academy, collected cans, boxes and jars of food from their student body.

Residents of 25 and 55 Knolls Crescent, Le Chic Hair Salon, Goodman Management, Kelly’s Bar and Restaurant and Ben’s Market donated food and turkeys.

BJ’s Whole Sale Club donated 62 cases of green beans and corn totaling over 750 cans of food.

Councilman Andrew Cohen (back, c), Dinowitz (back, 2nd from r) and P.S. 24 faculty and students helped spread holiday cheer to those in need.
