Wednesday, March 15 at 1:14 p.m. — A 58-year-old man was stabbed aboard a subway train near the Pelham Bay Park station above Westchester Avenue as the train travelled southbound, cops report. The victim was stabbed multiple times with an unknown object and was taken to Jacobi Medical Center with non life-threatening injuries. The person doing the stabbing was described as a black man who is about 25-years-old. He was last seen wearing red jeans, dark hooded coat and brown boots.

Friday, March 24 at 1:24 a.m.– Cops made an arrest in a hit and run case that claimed the life of a bicyclist near Mayflower and East Tremont avenues on June 11, 2016. After an investigations, cops collared the person they believe struck the man and then left the scene. Victor Palaez of Mayflower Avenue was teken into custody.

46 Precinct

Tuesday, March 7 at 12:00 p.m. — Police got a report of a cellphone theft inside a store at 2438 Jerome Avenue. Someone entered a restricted access area of the restaurant and took a 47-year-old woman’s cell phone. He then walked out of the store and fled. He is described as an Hispanic man who is of average height and build and between 35-years-old and 40-years-old. He was last seen wearing a black hooded sweater, a gray shirt, camouflage pants and a black knit cap.

49 Precinct

Saturday, March 25 at 7:39 a.m. — Cops responded to a report of a 71-year-old woman who was followed into the elevator of an apartment building and robbed. The crime took place in a building at Cruger Avenue, near Pelham Parkway. The victim was struck in the stomach and had her property forcibly taken by a heavy-set Hispanic woman. The individual had long-braided hair and was last seen wearing a brown jacket and brown pants.

50 Precinct

March 19 at 10:15 p.m. — Police responded to a report of a motor vehicle colliding with a pedestrian on Van Cortlandt Avenue West near Sedgwick Avenue. They found an 84-year-old man in the roadway with head trauma. EMS responded and took the man to St. Barnabas Hospital where he was pronounced dead on Wednesday, March 22. The driver remained on the scene. It was later determined that the victim was crossing the street when he was struck. No arrests were made immediately following the incident.
