Borough President Ruben Diaz, Jr. and Abriendo Brechas Internacional Charito Cisneros honored some exemplary local leaders at the annual Ecuadorian Heritage Month Celebration on Thursday, September 22 at Lehman College. This year’s distinguished honorees included actor, journalist and teacher Franco Galecio; model and recording artist Jessenia Vice, attorney Dr. Neil Hernandez and Anthony Pennella, Charito Cisneros’ grandson.
Anthony Pennella (l), Charito Cisneros’ grandson, was recognized for organizing and constructing all productions in English and Spanish.
