Preston Center of Compassion held a celebration of the announcement that it has been awarded a competitive grant from the IGT After-School Advantage Program for the center’s extensive community-based after school academic tutoring program. The celebration took place on Thursday, November 12. Families and community members, as well as elected officials and their representatives, were on hand to witness the presentation of items awarded in the grant, including computers, headphones, a mobile computer cart, and Lexia reading software program.

The staff, board members and students of the Preston Center of Compassion and of the After School Advantage Program are joined by members of the Throggs Neck Community Action Partnership, Assemblyman Michael Benedetto, and Michael Rivadeneyra, Councilman James Vacca’s chief of staff Michael Rivadeneyra celebrate the new program.
