Mt. Carmel School Displays Religious Tapestry

Mother Mary Thomas, an 82-year old cloistered nun, traveled for the first time in years from her convent at Poor Clares of Perpetual Adoration in Cleveland, Ohio to the Bronx last Friday, September 25 to display a replica of her original religious tapestry at our Lady of Mt. Carmel School in celebration of Pope Francis’ visit to New York. Mother Thomas brought with her a lightweight mesh reproduction of her work which included the Pontiff. The ceremony featured the Hard as Nails Christian Youth Organization who are challenging school children to pray the Rosary each day for three months in the pope’s honor.
