Frederick Douglass Academy V Unveils New Mural

Councilman Ritchie Torres and Frederick Douglass Academy V students and staff unveiled a new mural at the school on Friday, June 24. The mural was painted by students in collaboration with Groundswell and was supported by Torres’ discretionary funds. The public masterpiece illustrates Douglass’ dedication to reading, writing and the opportunities literacy can provide for a successful future.
