Broken-armed bandit robs Bank of America

Police is looking for community input in their search for a suspect wanted in connection with a bank robbery last week.

The unidentified suspect, wearing a cast on his right arm and a white patch over his right arm, entered a Bank of America, at 329 E. 149th Street within the 40th Precinct, on Friday, April 18, and passed a teller a note before displaying an unknown device to the bank employee.

The bank teller complied with the suspect’s demands, handing over an undetermined amount of money before the bank robber fled the scene.

No one was hurt during the exchange.

Surveillance video captured the robbery and police have released footage in hopes that someone may recognize the man in the video.

In addition to the cast and patch, the suspect is identified as being approximately 5’10”, and was at the scene wearing both sunglasses and a New York Yankees baseball cap.

Police are asking anyone with information to call (800) 577-TIPS.  All calls will remain confidential.
