St. Raymond High School for Boys had the honor and privilege of being in the presence of Bernhard Storch, WWII veteran and concentration camp liberator. Storch told the students of his fleeing Poland in 1939 without his family shortly before the start of World War II as well as his harrowing tale of later becoming part of the Polish army and helping to liberate four Nazi extermination camps: three in Germany and one in Poland. Storch was also held in a Soviet prison camp in Sibereia and was the only member of his immediate family to survive the war.
