Senator Klein going mobile

Senator Klein going mobile

Senator Jeff Klein is going mobile.

He’s just launched satellite offices that will rotate weekly across various parts of his district.

Representatives from Klein’s main office in the Hutch Metro Center will be at stationed at the locations, giving community members local access to casework assistance and information on community events, he said.

The satellite offices will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at each location at least through March.

“Throughout my career in public service, I have always believed that one of my most important duties is to be accessible everyone I’m lucky enough to represent,” said Klein (D-Bronx/Westchester). “While my district office door is always open, having “office hours” in other parts of our community give more residents greater and more direct access to the information and assistance they need.”

Klein said his office provides a wide-range of constituent services.

“We work with local residents, small business owners and community leaders on many issues, including neighborhood preservation, social services assistance, and graffiti removal,” he said, adding that staffers also help expedite work with city and state agencies and do their best to help solve issues that arise on everything from transportation, public safety, and health care.

“After 20 years in public service, I’ve learned that nothing beats a face-to-face meeting with one of my constituents. Oftentimes, that’s the best way to learn what’s going on in the community or provide assistance to a family or business,” Klein said. “But I know my constituents are extremely busy—between commuting, working, and spending time with family, there isn’t much time left each day—so I want to make it as easy as possible for them to reach my staff and me. That way, I get to hear from my constituents more often and can make sure we’re dedicating enough resources to every neighborhood’s concerns.”
