Senator Jeff Klein hosts Black History Month Celebration

Senator Jeff Klein hosted his Black History Month Breakfast at Villa Barone Manor on Saturday, February 21. The honorees were April Horton, director of external and government affairs at Verizon; Paul Moore, principal of Moore Development Group; Rev. Dr. Kahlil Mootoo, pastor of Bright Temple A.M.E. Church in Hunts Point; Loretta Masterson, president of the Sack Wern Houses Residents Council in Clason Point; Darrin Speight, president of the Shorehaven Condo Association in Clason Point; Debra Stern, founder and executive director of the Amani Public Charter School and Aleatha Williams, founder and president of Youth Leaders On The Move. The keynote address was given by Klein’s colleague, Senator James Sanders Jr. of Queens.
