Senator Gustavo Rivera, Councilwoman Vanessa Gibson and Assemblyman Michael Blake co-hosted a Black History Month celebration on Saturday, February 6 at the Claremont Neighborhood Center to honor outstanding community members. Under this year’s theme of ‘keeping our community’s healthy’, the celebration also hosted local health organizations which provided participants with health information, tips on preventative measures and an array of free health screenings.
Joanne Allers from Local 372 (c) was honored by Senator Rivera and the event’s co-sponsors Councilwoman Gibson and Assemblyman Blake.
