A monthly music series at the Bartow-Pell Mansion Museum kicked off on August 7, when a reggae performance marked the return of the site’s “First Friday!” program. Stephen Sylvester and the Anthem Reggae Band wowed the crowd of nearly 100 with their island jams. The next “First Friday” will be on Septembe 5, when West African musicians Malang Jobarteh and Salieu Suso perform with the “kora,” a 21-string African harp used by traditional storytellers.
