The Children’s Hospital at Montefiore rewarded six asthma patients and their families with a special four-day camp experience in New Hampshire this week.
The kids got on a bus Thursday, Aug. 15 to go to the New Hampshire camp, marking the fifth year that the Children’s Hospital at Montefiore has provided patients with this special adventure.
The kids with persistent asthma, which requires that they take daily medications, enjoyed various camp activities, including theater, arts and crafts, swimming and other water activities, team sports, and more. Each day, they were provided with an age-appropriate asthma educational component.
Children’s Hospital at Montefiore pediatric asthma specialist Dr. Karen Warman and Einstein pre-medical students accompanied patients and their families on the trip.
